SHIELDLER is a sustainable material engineering company for healthcare and nutraceutical industries.
Founded in Amsterdam, we’re a young company passionately dedicated to leading the sustainable plastic revolution.
Bottle by bottle, we can help restore the balance between people and the planet - to protect today and secure tomorrow.
We’re on a mission to eliminate single-use virgin plastics from the healthcare and nutraceutical industries.
This sector is overdue an overhaul, and the planet can’t wait.
By introducing packaging products made of the highest quality recycled plastic, we’ll show the world it’s possible - now.
SHIELDLER’s thermoplastic recycled programmes are engineered from BLUEWAVE® materials. SHIELDLER is certified to the Global Recycling Standard (GRS), version 4.0. Standards don’t get higher than this, and GRS certifies BLUEWAVE® from source to final product.
Our food & medicine safety products are engineered from rPET. The recycling processes for rPET are evaluated and certified by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).
We are committed to advancing the sustainable development goals
Innovation and production excellence; it’s in our DNA. Our business model is built on innovating solutions to global problems - like the plastics crisis. Our partnerships are based on a shared vision of sustainable development. Our holding company, Archwey, drives growth in future-proof product manufacturing. Resilience throughout the COVID-19 crisis shows that the approach works and Archwey looks to further implement this formula for crisis-resistant operations and manufacturing in future markets, building inclusive and resilient industrialisation and further innovation.
The heart of our sustainability vision is a better future for all, by eliminating single-use, virgin plastics.
We can help affect society on a large scale. For good. Because our long term vision is to ensure that urban environments and cities are able to use only sustainable materials, in a circular economy and a way of life free from single-use plastics.
Our partnerships are established and maintained on a foundation of honesty, fairness, and consistency in all practices.
All supply chain partners follow our Code of Conduct. They follow our expectations on social compliance, auditing and waste monitoring, not to mention labour rights.
That’s how our clients have our assurance on manufacturing & supply chain ESG frameworks from waste to final product.
With BLUEWAVE® material innovation, we remove the need for virgin plastics. Instead, the process recycles post-consumer plastics, so they don’t end up as ocean microplastics and affect the oceanic carbon cycles.
BLUEWAVE® products last. And last, and last. They are multi-use and fully recyclable. Circularity such as this doesn’t just make for a lower carbon footprint, it provides a long-lasting and durable alternative to virgin petroleum-based single-use plastics.
The BLUEWAVE® programme aims to hold back the tsunami of post-consumer waste pollution that spills into our oceans. By collecting waste from the four most polluting rivers in the world, the key sources of global plastic ocean pollution, we’re not just helping life below water. We’re bringing about the end of single-use plastic and the amount of it that ends up in our rivers and oceans.
We’re committed to cutting deforestation, not trees. That why our parent company, Archwey, only sanction the use of FSC® 100% certified wood across their brands. That means wood which is sustainably sourced, in ways that don’t damage forests and natural habitats. In responsibly managed forests there are no tree-less patches.
The use of post-consumer waste for BLUEWAVE® also helps to prevent harmful plastics entering landfills or rivers - which helps protect the balance of biodiversity on land.
